How it works

JPEG often suits photographs; PNG often suits sharp graphics and transparency. Converting a screenshot to JPEG may create halos around text. Compare the output at its intended display size before replacing the original.

What to check before using the result

Transparent areas become white because JPEG cannot store transparency. Conversion is lossy and metadata is not retained. Renaming a file is not conversion: this tool writes actual JPEG bytes.
