COOKIELESS WEBSITE ANALYTICS

A clearer picture. A lighter footprint.

Understand what brings people to your website and what they explore. Our standard tag gives you useful analytics without setting tracking cookies or storing a persistent visitor ID in the browser.

Unlimited websites and pages in beta. No credit card.

Useful measurement, thoughtfully explained.

01

No tracking cookies.

The standard pageview tag does not create analytics cookies or save its visitor identifier in localStorage or sessionStorage.

02

The context you need.

See visitors, views, referrers, campaigns, countries and devices. Filter the audience you want to understand and compare reporting periods.

03

One straightforward setup.

Add your website, copy its tag and install it in your shared header. Check a real incoming pageview to verify that it is working.

How can you count visitors without cookies?

Each recorded pageview provides information about the page and the browser. On the server, we create an anonymous identifier from the website, connection IP and browser user-agent using a salt that rotates each month. The analytics database does not store the raw IP address.

That identifier lets the dashboard estimate distinct visitors within the selected period. It is an estimate of browser and network combinations, not a verified count of people. Shared connections can merge visitors; changes of network or browser and the monthly rotation can split them.

Accuracy starts with knowing what was measured.

A useful analytics service should make its definitions clear. Our pageviews are recorded events, visitors are distinct anonymous identifiers, and visits follow the Umami engine’s grouping rules. Counts depend on the tag loading and its requests arriving successfully.

Ad blockers, failed requests, duplicate tags and missing page templates can change the result. We provide an installation check and a practical comparison guide so you can test the events being received instead of relying on a claim of perfect accuracy.

Cookieless is a technical choice. Consent needs context.

The standard tag avoids tracking cookies, but that fact alone does not decide your legal obligations. Your purpose, implementation, audience and other scripts all matter. Do not remove an existing consent mechanism just because one analytics tool has changed.

We describe the collection method and its limits openly so you can review the right setup for your site. Keep personal information out of URLs and event properties, and collect only the information you need.

A few useful answers.

Is cookieless analytics the same as anonymous people counting?
It estimates distinct browser and network combinations. It cannot prove how many individual human beings visited, and it is not a named contact list.
Does the dashboard itself use browser storage?
Yes. Dashboard sign-in uses browser storage to keep you signed in. The no-persistent-visitor-storage description applies to the standard tag installed on your website.
Can I track campaign links without cookies?
Yes. UTM parameters label the destination URL. When a pageview records those labels, you can use campaign reports and filters without the labels themselves setting cookies.
