A SMALL TOOL FOR BETTER CAMPAIGNS

Give every link a little context.

A free UTM builder for the links you share. Label your source, channel and campaign, then see what brings visitors to your website.

No signup. No spreadsheet formulas. Your link details stay in your browser.
The page you want people to visit. Existing non-UTM parameters are preserved.
Where you share the link, for example newsletter or linkedin.
The channel type, for example email, social or cpc.
A consistent name for this launch or promotion.
Distinguish a link position or creative variation.
An optional keyword label.
Your link details stay in this browser. No account needed.
THE NEXT STEP

You’ve labelled the link.
Now measure the visit.

A UTM link adds context to a URL; it does not record a click or visit on its own. Install the analytics tag on the destination website, open your finished link, and check that the campaign appears in your reports.

Visitor Tracking reads UTM parameters from recorded pageviews. Explore the campaign’s visitors, pages and relevant events without the standard tag setting tracking cookies.

THE THREE LABELS TO START WITH

A naming convention you can remember.

utm_source

Where did you share it?

Use a specific source, such as newsletter, linkedin or a partner’s name.

utm_medium

What kind of channel?

Group similar sources with a medium such as email, social or cpc.

utm_campaign

Which campaign is this?

Use one name for the campaign, such as autumn-launch. Keep spelling and case consistent.

Use utm_content to distinguish creative versions or link positions, and utm_term for an optional keyword. Avoid personal information: these values are visible in the shared URL. Our builder replaces existing values for these five UTM fields, removes blank optional fields, and preserves other parameters and fragments.

Useful links.
Clear answers.

Do I need Google Analytics to use UTM links?
No. UTM parameters are URL labels that compatible analytics tools can read. Visitor Tracking supports campaign parameters in its recorded pageviews.
Does creating a UTM link set a cookie?
No. The labels are part of the URL. What happens when someone opens it depends on the destination website and the scripts installed there.
Can I paste a URL that already has parameters?
Yes. Other query parameters and the fragment are kept. Existing standard UTM source, medium, campaign, term and content values are replaced with the values you enter here.
Should I tag links between pages on my own site?
Use UTM tags for incoming campaigns. Tagging internal navigation can confuse your source and campaign analysis. Use normal links and deliberately configured custom events for on-site actions.
