How to use this calculator

  1. Enter values with a consistent currency and reporting period.
  2. Calculate to see the result and supporting figures.
  3. Review the formula and assumptions before using the result.

The formula, explained

(New − original) ÷ original × 100

Percentage change compares a new value with a positive starting value. Moving from 800 visits to 1,000 visits is a 25% increase. Moving back from 1,000 to 800 is a 20% decrease because the baseline changes.

Example inputs: original value 800; new value 1,000. Result: 25 %.

What to check before using the result

The percentage change from zero is undefined. This calculator also rejects a negative baseline because the usual growth interpretation becomes misleading. Compare equal reporting periods and consistent visitor definitions.
