From being seen to being clicked.
Calculate click-through rate for a campaign, link or listing. Enter clicks and impressions from the same source and period.
Clicks ÷ impressions × 100
For example, clicks of 125 and impressions of 5,000 give a result of 2.5 %.
Keep the scope and reporting period consistent. Zero in the first field is valid; a zero denominator has no defined rate, so the calculator asks for a total greater than zero.
Make the number useful.
An impression means the item was shown, under the reporting platform’s definition. A click is an interaction with it. Keep the two inputs from the same reporting system and period so the ratio compares like with like.
A higher CTR can indicate that the message is relevant to its audience, but it does not prove the resulting traffic is useful. Review what people do on the destination page as well as whether they clicked. There is no universal good CTR across every format and source.
Do not substitute website visitors for ad impressions. A recorded click can fail to become a pageview, and several clicks can belong to one visitor. Use UTM links to label your campaign, then compare the arriving traffic separately.
